Holy shit kiddo! That was painful and hot and gorgeous. Beautiful writing - you nailed the boys voices. Reading what Sam did to save Dean made my stomach clench. Poor, broken boys! You are made of win!

This is extraordinarily bittersweet, poignant, powerful. I like how gradually you reveal Sam's dysfunction, and how the reveal of his actual actions to save Dean comes slowly, as well. We're naturally invested in sympathy for canon Sam, and that sympathy is made more powerful by his obvious distress here, and then you hit us with the realization that Sam's done something terrible, stepped over some awful line, that his dysfunction is at least in part the direct result of a choice he made that the Sam we--and Dean--still remember but that we--and Dean--will never see again.

This is just great, great work. Thanks for sharing!

Oh wow, thank you so much- comments like this always make me flail around happily. I'm so glad you enjoyed the atmosphere here- and I loved your description at the end of your comment, that they're just trying to adjust, put their very broken pieces back together. Thank you again!

Ah, man.
Dean can't remember anything but the most painful thing, Sam sinks down into this numb void and...
*hands*

Lovely and hurty and perfect. Love it.

Thank you so much! Yeah, poor Winchesters- even when everything works out all right for them, it still goes wrong.
