I've had it with Silk.

I finally got tired of taking Silk's crap. It freezes all the time when I'm trying to use Kiss Anime and Kiss Manga. Which sucks when I'm trying to move to the next chapter and it acts like it's loading, but it isn't doing shit. So I went to the Amazon App Store in search of a better browser, and as expected, the selection was incredibly limited, ( Read more... )

Yeah, Silk is the Kindle Fire browser.

Silk is the web browser that the Kindle Fire uses. It's Amazon's thing, lol

I've always been a die-hard Chrome user, but now that I'm using Opera, I actually like it better. *shrug* Plus, I can sync my bookmarks and stuff between my Fire and my laptop, so that's all the more reason to use it.

Silk is the web browser on the Kindle Fire. It crashes and freezes a lot, lol

I actually used to avoid Opera, even though my brother always sang its praises, lol It's actually a lot faster, especially on the Fire, and as of yet, I haven't had any of the crashing or freezing issues I was having with Silk, and I really like it on my Fire, so I ended up getting it on my computer too. It's pretty awesome because not only is it faster, it has an ad-blocker built-in, so you don't have to have a separate extension for it. Of course, I can also sync between my computer and my Fire, so that makes it even better. (You can do that with Chrome too, but Chrome isn't available on the Amazon app store. Probably because Amazon and Google don't get a long well XD)

i c, cool. i would never know that cause i don't have a e reader. if i read an ebook, i do it on my phone through the free kindle app or on my tablet the same way. a e reader would be a waste for me. i thought about getting one at one point and decided it wasn't worth it and i like paper books too much. :D

Yeah, the Kindle's kinda like a cheap, cheap iPad. I can use it to watch movies, browse the Internet, and play app games too.
