He looked like he had a bright light shining at his back, a fine translucent halo all around his body, making his skin even paler, his eyes even bluer, everything else seeming shadowy and gray.
Brian wanted to get close enough to feel the warmth he was sure Justin was emitting, close enough that maybe he could get into the light, and the only way he could think of doing that was to drag Justin into the backroom and fuck him against the bricks.
Brian was high, and Justin was moaning into the wall. And now Brian was glowing too.
Your vicarious existence, it's a danger to us all / The way you sleepwalk through your life in a pixilated thrall. -- "In Your Name", Kevin McCalix
The first time Justin comes back to Brian, he's met with gloomily guarded features and a shitload of memories he's not entirely sure he wants to remember. He sees Brian, for the first time, in real pain, and while the childish part of him is smug that it's pain over the thought of having nearly lost *him*, the rest of him just wants to wrap his arms around Brian's barely-quaking shoulders and promise him that everything will be all right and mean it

I'm impressed. I almost left those lyrics out, because I seriously didn't think anyone would be able to do anything with them. But it's supposed to be songs chosen at random, and that's what came up on my list, so I left it in there. I'm so glad I did, because what you wrote really works. Brian always did kind of sleepwalk through life before Justin came along, and he went right back there after 122 and again after 220. Great job! Thanks!
Mostly because I love Dan Fogelberg. I am totally addicted to "Longer". Also, very schmoopy, I know. But we need some schmoop sometimes, you know?
13. Now that we love / Now that the lonely nights are over / How do we make love stay?
Justin always falls asleep first. The Brian can look at him, sleeping. He feels the warmth and sees the beautiful features contort to a dream. It seems almost impossible that he once used to be able to fall asleep alone, without the comforting breathing lulling him tp sleep. Even more impossible that it used to bother him. He lets himself drift off, knowing that this feeling is probably never going away.
I love all the drabbles, but the third one just is perfection. ♥ Exactly how I think it would have been in Brian's childhood and what his reason is for not believing in love.
