My muse decided to strike again today!

Episode 118You're amazed at how many emotions you can go through in such a short amount of time. He tells you he's not going to Dartmouth, he's staying right here in Pittsburgh, and you feel relieved, excited, elated. You're immediately angry at yourself; you're not supposed to care whether you get to see him ( Read more... )

That was quite a surprise ending for a drabble! I did not expect it to go there.

The way this one went has a lot to do with how I've always interpreted Brian's character ( ... )

Thank you!

I just hope my muse DOES stay -- she can be extremely fickle! :D

Oh Ohhhhhh. I looooove this. So completely captures what could have been (was!) going through Brian's mind during that scene, fabulously captured in only 100 words. Absolutely brilliant.

Thank you so much! I have a really hard time getting into season 1 Brian's head, so this was more what I hope he was thinking than what I actually believe he was thinking, so it make me really happy to know that you think I got it right.

This was lovely.

Sigh. Poor doomed Brian.

Ouch. And perfect. For so long this was exactly Brian's fear.

Funny thing, the 1st time I saw that scene, "Not until I say so", I was like, uh-oh, poor Brian... And you captured it so well!

(oh, and I'm here via _in_babylon, and as I'm still in the process of mulling over your previous posts, I just want to say thank you for sharing your thoughts, especially on season 5 of QaF. I'm 1 of the people who wanted a closed&sealed ending, and haven't even realised that until I read your 513 post... then I remembered Katherine Paterson's "The Great Gilly Hopkins", and what she wrote about happy endings - that it's a lie, 'cause the only real ending we ever get is death. So, it was great to see my mixed feelings from a whole new perspective *g* Um. Having said all that, I friended you, hope you don't mind!)

And you captured it so well!

Thanks, I'm glad you think so!

ITA with that statement about the "happy ending" being a lie. I like it when a story ends on a happy, upbeat note (which, IMO, QAF did), but I don't like a closed ending, where it feels like the storyteller is trying to make it appear that everything has been wrapped up in a bow and the story is over. Well, if it's a movie, where you only spent a couple of hours with the characters, I don't mind a closed ending. But when it comes to characters that I got to know and love over the course of years, I like being left with the feeling that their story isn't over just because the show is over.

And, no, I don't mind at all that you friended me; I friended you back. I'm glad that you're enjoying reading my posts.
