Notice that #3 and #10 are to some extent contradictory, since the act of reducing "wordy" descriptions containing detail to short, non-nuanced phrases is one of the standard techniques of dumbing-down. "It's not that simple" is now widely disparaged as a hallmark of liberalism, because in their worldview it really IS that simple.
