This is very cool! The Tuareg have a fascinating history, and I was glad to learn a little more about them by way of this story. I enjoyed that you use the "costume" idea as inspiration for writing about real people. And I really like that you let Jim be Tuareg himself, instead of American guy saves another country/planet from itself, which frankly Trek hasn't been so good about itself. This is a vision of a future I would really like to see!
Thank you! Thank you! I'm so glad you like it so far! I've been studying the Tuareg for about 6 years now, an amazing culture! I hope to bring more of that knowledge to the story as Len and K'irk get to know each other, and K'irk introduces him to a very simple way of life!
Great story, the Touareg are very interesting, to use real people to write this story is absolut amazing :) I like the way Jim helps the Touareg, i like also the way Jim shoes Bones a very simple way of life. Hope to read more :)
Thank you so much for reading. The Tuareg, or the European spelling Touareg, are an amazing group of people. There are only about 1 million of them left in Africa, scattered across Niger, Nigeria, Mali, Algeria and small groups of them in Libya, they live simply, but their philosophy on life is incredible. The title of the story is taken from a Tuareg saying, Aman iman, ar isudar(from their native tongue Tamashek) It means, Water is life, milk is hope. I'll explain that more in the next installment. Thank you again for reading!!!!
I'm glad you're enjoying it, since I LOVES your work! LOL! I couldn't resist the A&M reference since I live here in good old Bryan/College Station. And since I am intimately involved with Aggies, yeah, Jim would so fit in!
