I'm glad your writing break is working out for you. Mine are never on purpose, it seems. I think I'm starting to feel the writing love again, though. You sound so determined and purposeful and organized regarding the upcoming BB, lol. I actually have one in mind for that too, also a J2 AU, but I've never written a long one of those so I 'm a little nervous about it.

I'm so glad you're starting to feel the writing mojo. I loved your salt_burn_porn - a nice jump back in, maybe/hopefully? Though I know where you're coming from with not feeling the writing love for a while - I once became so guilt-ridden and anxious over a WIP in another fandom (Beecher/Keller on Oz fandom) that I stopped writing for like six or seven years. Or that was the excuse, anyway.

Coming back into it, I realized I sort of have to be disciplined because I write sooo slowly and when I try to force myself to write fast, I get overwhelmed.

I like how a "writing break" for you is a week, whereas for me it's more like... three months /o\ *fail* You are one of many awesome writers on my flist who consistently put out amazing writing but are also simultaneously REALLY PROLIFIC and I want to just latch onto you guys and hope some of that talent leeches onto me. *clings*

You're so sweet! I don't think of myself as prolific at all, though I guess I've written and posted more in the past year than I ever thought I would. I'm scared to give myself too much of a break because "a little break" has turned into years for me before and I'm really loving being back at it now. Anyway --- get back on the horse, damnit.

I'm so happy you're back in the writing groove! :D Seriously, your fic is amazing and I'm so glad you're part of the fandom now ♥ (And writing the pairings I like, ohoho *selfish* XD) Can I ask, were you writing original stuff before you took a break, or were you in another fandom? :o

I mostly blame my inherent laziness for this, but in my case I'm just REALLY SLOW. It takes so much for me to just sit down and write without distractions, and even when I do, I can never manage more than ~500 words an hour (usually less). And then I just get frustrated/impatient and call it a night, lol. I'm srsly the worst at self-discipline /o\

OMG, do I feel you on the REALLY SLOW, plus I start getting headaches or losing focus if I write for more than like 30 minutes at a time. I keep wanting to go back and edit everything RIGHT THEN. I'm lucky if I hit 500 words a day, which is the only reason I make myself write nearly every day even if it's just a half hour sprint. Otherwise I wouldn't get anything done at all.

I wrote some X-Files fanfic ages ago, but I was writing a Beecher/Keller Oz WIP when I gave up and lost my mojo (that was a pretty small fandom but I felt so bad about quitting a WIP before the end, it really messed up my writing). I wrote some original stuff after that, but nothing I really finished or took that seriously.
