hey, I heard that the people who work at the apple stores (I'm assuming you went to the mall) suck but if you send your ipod directically to apple they'll fix it for you..just what I heard, but worth a shot to investigate before you spend all sorts of money

i have little hope, since it's out of warranty. i looked up online and read a bunch of similar "mine broke and they want as much to fix it as it cost in the first place" stories.

bah. i'll just start singing to myself instead.

oh man, that makes me nervous pookie. my ipod wouldn't turn on the other day (i am assuming because i took it to the beach and then didn't use it for another three weeks) and it tried to charge but now it won't, and i think i'm like a month past my warranty too. errrggg

anyway, you need to come see the new place soon! if you come up, you can share my bed because its a fullllllllllllllll

Most dead ipods can be repaired quite easily.

If it's a bios/software problem, this site has instructions to restore it:

Sometimes if the hard drive is not working, it's due to loose connections. Open the cover w/ a thin screw driver and make sure everything is tight. If it's a 4th gen ipod and it's busted beyond repair, you can replace the hard drive for about $100 (or slightly more than that if you buy apple-branded hard drives):

Good luck!
