today on the train a woman sat next to me and read the wedding pages from the nyt like she was reading a book. the wedding pages. unless you're an event planner, who does that? and even if you are a wedding planner, who does that ( Read more... )

I read the wedding pages! I'm nosy about other people's (or rather, in the case of the NY Times wedding pages, rich people's) lives, I guess. I like to read them when someone else is around to share them with, though, because otherwise it's frustrating not to be able to read them aloud and make fun of the good ones. I hardly ever get the print edition of the Sunday paper anymore, but when I do the wedding section is one of the highlights of my week. Call me shallow, it's cool.

i can buy the whole idea of reading it with someone else to share, but she was reading by herself on public transportation it like it was a novel.

and i guess in some ways, it is.

I never got the women who think marriage weddings are something to be a fan of. They follow them like the follow boy bands
