Your link doesn't work, but if you're talking about what I think you're talking about, it's not just a fence. A fence along the border would also mean increased surveillance and patrols around the fence. Ie. you need to have a fence, before you can put cameras up on the fence. You need a fence, before you can put radio/patrol stations along the fence.
If that's not what your talking about, or if the article says they are not increasing surveillance of the fence, then I apologize.

yes, i am talking about the fence that will be running along the border. the fence that will not have enough people to man it. the fence that will not solve any of the underlying issues. yes. that would be the idiotic fence i am refering to. no need to apologize

I always figured I fell to the liberal side of most issues except for this.

While yes, it seems heartless, it's also unfair to all the other people who want to immigrate to the US for a better life but Mexicans can have an easier chance at it because they live right next door.

Maybe I'm being a heartless racist bastard but it's always bothered me that we sorta cater to the illegal immigrants running across the boarder. McDonalds menus are in spanish, SAP channels, and they protest in the streets with mexican flags. It just seems like spanish immigrants (legal or not) almost have it easier then say my parents when they came to the US. I mean, aside from the few China towns, it's not like you can walk into a McDonalds and be able to order something in spanish.

it could be beacuse i'm tired, but i dont' see how making it harder from one group of illegal immigrants makes things any easier for another group of illegal immigrants. it's not fair so let's make it hard for everyone? i'm not following the logic ( ... )

Not to mention it's only going to cover 700 miles while leaving 1300 miles unfenced.. which means anyone who wants to cross the border can just go to the unfenced part

I heard somewhere that Mexicans were keeping crazy religious radical dudes (the kind who like to blow themselves up) out of the U.S. cause they didn't want the border to be closed. if there's a fence keeping the Mexicanos out, maybe they'll get mad and let the crazy dudes in. then we'll all be screwed.
and yeah. what the hell's a fence gonna do?
<3 fuj.
