I dunno, cats rely on instincts a lot, but still have complex and different personalities.

I've had many cats living in the same household with the same people (so, I'd think the same "conditioning") who behave differently, just like people do.

but, with children, as with animals, we are all treated in a different way. it's how the oldest kid always seems to turn out the most successful or wise in a family, because their parents had raised them differently and with a different mentality, you know?
