Yay! Our team won, and people are freaking out in the best way :) I love it when the collective mood is good, Germans tend to criticize every chance they get, so it's nice when there's nothing to pick apart for once.
Game recap
here. Go, boys! I can't wait for the next game. :D

... was that convincing? I’m not sure how what he did constitutes a tackle. :) not a great soccer lover. But like a true Aussie sports fan, see how defensive I was. Though we gave you a warm up match, a nice little run and loads of goal kicking practice.
It was amusing me all week how people thought we could win because we did so well in the last world cup. Silly, silly soccer fans. Get us in a pool though, and we’ll whip you!
Enjoy the rest of the world cup. Your team might actually keep winning and be there for more than 6 days!

I agree the red card was a little too strict, but he went for the legs instead of the ball, from behind, and that definitely constituted a foul. We've lost so many players before the WC started that we can't afford another one to get injured. Really worried for our boys here! I do want them to go on to the next round.

Yeah, I'll admit even I didn't think we'd lose 4-0. That was an impressive loss. Very much outplayed. I think the players were hoping that Germany would go in overconfident and we’d be able to do something soccerlike. Besides everyone loves the underdog, though not so much when they get their arses handed to them. Lol.
Cahill's the one person in the team who knows where the net is so Aussies aren't sure who is going to score, if we manage to score at all in the next game. We’ve got a few years to go before Australia consistently cares about soccer like they do other codes. Maybe we’ll barrack for South Africa, it’s still green and gold.

Oh, did I say this was off topic?
I'm loving the first chapter of Best Laid Plans. This type of het, I can definitely take ~_^
