Good people, bad packets

Thesis (my masters, don't panic) is going ba... er, slowly as usual. I discovered a race condition in my code yesterday which causes scads of updates to simply disappear off the earth. It is theoretically fixed now, and shall be practially fixed later. I think the code is reaching that critical mass point -- I had to read my own documentation
