You know, we don't stand a chance (BSG ff)

I had a moment of inspiration and here it is - my very first fic in English. Don't be afraid to criticise and remember to drop me a comment. :)

The fic was inspired by the prompt gave to my by galianoir: Where Lee and Kara are both behind the bars. Thanks ( Read more... )

Wow.

WOW.

This is making me cry, seriously.

I love these "what if?" fics, and honestly, I remember the ones with unhappy endings more.

Thanks so much for sharing.

cheers.

Thank you! I'm so glad that it worked and you liked the fic :D

Yeah, I have a weakness for dark, angsty and unhappy fics, so I finally had to give it a try and write something in English. ;) And I also tend to remember more the ones with unhappy endings - somehow it stays with you for a much longer, doesn't it?

She observes them as they handcuff him, now calm and accepting, and then lead him out of his cell. He isn’t fighting anymore and she isn’t sure if she should be angry or touched by that. The only thing she feels confident about is that she is also not going to fight back.

Lee smiles at her.

Then he’s gone.

She knows that he’ll be waiting for her on the other side and for now it’s more than enough.

This is lovely. Nearly made me cry, but lovely. Thank you.

That's very depressing. In a good way, though.

She observes Lee, longing to touch him, but at the same time unable to do so. He’s close enough, that’s not the problem. The blue shirt he put on instead of a flight suit makes him look more vulnerable, almost defenseless.

That's pure Kara. She is a soldier through and through, and she never saw the strength behind civil service and politics.

In the end it’s better that the Old Man didn’t live to see this moment.

It's weirdly fitting that they would care and think about him even as they face execution. And:

“I love you,” he blurts out, as simply as if it was a normal situation and there were not about to be executed. She wants to berate him for choosing this moment, but she can’t bring herself to do that.

That is so perfectly Lee ♥ He would do that, he'd say it, and she would be certain that they were going to see each other on the other side.

Duh, of course she would. Kara/Lee ♥

I have such a soft spot for this fic, probably because I managed to put there almost everything that I had planned.

Thank you! :)))

Thank you so much for your comment! I really love the way I've managed to portray them and put there everything that I wanted to. And I really wanted to emphasize the things you have noticed - that she discovers him again and looks at him from the outside in a way she has never accomplished before. :)

Thank you so much! ♥ I will try to write more in English :)
