Though then I watched the pilot of Once Upon a Time, and that may be the new show I really fall in love with. Too soon to tell, though.

Did I miss that you got a puppy? Why have there not been puppy pictures? They grow up toooo fast! Oh, wait it's your family's puppy. Still! Cute animals!

I gave up on Revenge two weeks ago but I reserve the right to come back when Victoria confronts Emily-Amanda eventually. I cannot miss that showdown. It's really the Victoria and Emily show for me and I snooze when anyone else is on which is too much of the time!

I liked the premise of Once Upon a Time. But it's too early to tell on that one.

Good to know about the Best Buy warranty. Let us know what they do because I so want to invest in that when I buy a laptop.

Oh, no! I went to visit my parents, who have a grown-up dog, but I still tend to call him a puppy. He was pretty much the cutest puppy ever when he was one, but I'm also rather glad that he's now old enough to go to the bathroom in the great outdoors and mostly to do as he's told. Whenever I get a dog of my own (which I contemplate from time to time, but I'm not quite ready to take on the responsibility, I think), it will almost surely be an adult, though. Puppies are a little too much work, no matter how cute they are ( ... )

Puppies remind me of infants. Though within six months they have the basics down. But the energy. It's not the training but the puppy energy lasts for years. Someday I'll get one, though. When the time is right.

I may try Revenge again this week. I liked the second ep of Once Upon A Time. It's a show mainly about women. (To me, anyway.) The evil queen/mayor is quite compelling. I like the Maine!verse better than the fairy tale 'verse but I'm still quite willing to watch.

Good to know about Best Buy. Boo, on two weeks, though! Geek Squad can't fix it? Poor Aeryn! But on the other hand, hey, maybe free brand-new computer. I'm definitely buying my computer from them and getting the three year warranty. Years 3-5 is when a computer should start to go.

Hope Aeryn comes back okay!

Revenge has been ridiculously fun so far. And yes, I like that it doesn't play the bad choices as being okay, at all. (Though I will admit to being amused that one of Nolan's creepier choices was, on a moral scale, not that bad compared to everything else going on. Nolan: the glowing light of good?! Hee!)

Prime Suspect has been reliably enjoyable. I've actually kept up with watching it, even if I haven't posted about it.

Yes, Revenge and Prime Suspect are the new TV season winners for me so far. And Once Upon a Time!!!!! Which I watched the pilot of yesterday and really adored. Missed episode 2 tonight, but I'm looking forward to watching it when I get a chance. It has real potential, I think.

I adore Revenge for being just what it is, no holds barred. No one is quite good, no one is quite awful (except maybe Emily which makes the show so great), and the women are central. Annerb pointed out that the two best people on the show are Daniel and Jack and how they are really just meant to be pretty accessories. Love, love the flipping of the trope.

I did enjoy Once Upon A Time, but I am curious what they can do it with it.

So, I don't really watch Revenge, which made this sentence ...

Daniel and Jack and how they are really just meant to be pretty accessories

... epic in its amusement value. Thank you for that. :)

I have now caught the pilot of Once Upon a Time and really loved it! I think you're right that it's hard to see exactly how it's going to play itself out, so it's too soon to pass actual judgment, but I could definitely see myself loving it, depending on where they go with it.

And yes, I love the way Revenge is being unapologetic about the morally ambiguous kickass women. I just wish it were not also doing some other things I love less. But I'm enjoying it, definitely!

Interesting! Thank you! I'm feeling a little ambivalent about the most recent season, which is unfortunately making me less enthusiastic about River than in days past, but I don't think that's the character's fault, and I'll be interested to see if this fixes some of the things I didn't love about what they did with River in season 6.
