Knitters Knowledge Wanted

Is there anybody out there who know how to knit/knot/net a purse/reticule c.1800-1815?  All me attempts are rather dismal at the moment, so anyone who can give me any advice or point me towards somewhere/one who can would be very much appreciated!

I'm not sure but you might want to ask on ravelry.com. There are a ton of people on there that know about historical knitting. I think there is a rev war group that, although earlier, would know.

Yes, I'm one of the moderators for Historic Knitting on Ravelry, http://www.ravelry.com/groups/historic-knitting-2. You have to join ravelry to participate, but I'm sure someone could give you a hand.
