a little boy who had been listening along tugged on her skirts. “Your boyfriend isn’t dressed up,” he said with a serious nod.

Chloe looked back at Dean, and then smiled down at the little boy. “That’s because he’s trying to blend in with our visitors.”

“Why would he want to do that?” The boy asked.

“Because he’s the village idiot,” Chloe said.
