The other day, I re-read
Splinter of the Mind's Eye by Alan Dean Foster, the mother of all Lucas-shafted Star Wars
Expanded Universe books (the overt Luke/Leia! Darth Vader who totters!). Amused, I figured I'd read the Lucas's original novelisation of A New Hope, too

I've got your address. Now I know what I can get you for Christmas. Cost more to send the stuff than to buy it. At least Wheat Thins are not heavy, and so could be sent more easily than Twizzlers.
I have never heard of cookie dough pop tarts. Then again, I don't buy those. Always the brand name, I guess you don't get the generic ones.
I refuse to pay $4.99 for a pack of digestive biscuits that I could find at the European grocery. Maybe cost 79p in London. I won't pay it! Won'twon'twon't.

See, that's what I said about the Wheat Thins. My resolve crumbled in about three seconds, though. Alas. ;)

Yes, miner clothes. Leia's was of course a bit tight and Luke kept eyeing her curves (that were, apparently, in all the right places). Leia's also prone to screaming fits and in general, they act like teenagers blundering their way through trouble on sheer good luck. So now the book's entertaining for very different reasons.

"Casually [Vader] drew his own lightsaber, began swinging the activated energy blade loosely back and forth, chopping playfully at bits of stone and carving."

I'm sure at some point I'll get used to peanut butter as well -- maybe I ought to try a PBJ. I had my doubts over BLTs but when I had my first one couple of years ago, I was instantly hooked (darnit).
Out of curiousity, what country do you live in?
Finland! So not the bright, Pop-Tarted centre of the universe by any reckoning. ;)

I think the peanut butter thing is that it's just not a staple food here, so I never had it as a kid. It exists, but I don't know any Finns who have it on a regular basis. So it's just about getting used to a new food, as bacon-in-sandwich, the concept of cookie dough flavoured products, American cheese, etc. were for me. Conversely, I seem to evermore gross out Americans by having my mac&cheese with ketchup -- a most natural combo for me.
As for Finland, I'm always happy to blather on about my native land. :) So ask anything. The Internet has some good info as well, e.g. the ever-intriguing Virtual Finland.
