further Nokia 6010 update
but, i sent in the rebate for the phone, $30. have yet to receive a check, but it hasn't been long enough (unlike the amount of time to receive the deposit from the house rental. plenty of time to have received that, but also haven't!). got my rust-colored cover. looks more like rootbeer than red rust, but i like it. and can find it now when in my bag; silver is impossible to see for some reason. only now does my mate inform me that "i can make a cover for you any color you want, even modeled colors. the paint just has to be available. :-( i already spent $20!) didn't transfer my number after all. the old number, which was pretty good was previously used by a con man and i got you-swindled-me calls. but the SprintPCS did get cancelled. woohoo! i've been waiting 2yrs to cancel that phone. it was a pretty good feeling.
using up the minutes like crazy. on adding the first minutes, i had 1142min. now, after about a week there are like 650min. i've talked way more than normal. but what i haven't done is spend 30-40c/min for that privilege. more like 9c/min, it turns out. so everything is altogether good. but i wish the phone had better ring tones and graphics. there is no blipin way i'm paying $2 per to download them. for one thing, they don't even have the choices available that came stock on the 6100. and for another you can't sample the files, you have to pay just to see them. and no there is no way to see the stuff online, not even if you get a little sneaky. :-( quite a racket really.
