I hope it all works and he follows thru. There are so many steps he still has to go thru but now that he's put it out...I want follow-thru on his part.

I think his goals are reasonable, but I'm not sure how far he's going to get with the military. Living a good portion of my life in military towns, I can tell you the culture of discrimination runs deep. President Clinton agreed to "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" as a compromise with the military leaders who wanted to continue their practice of rooting out homosexuals with the intent of ejecting them from service; he wanted 100% tolerance as well and for some reason the Commander in Chief couldn't get the policy passed ( ... )

I have to agree I think the hardest will be the Military and the Don't ask Don't tell. I don't get the thought that because your gay or lesbian you are not able to defend this country should you desire it. Hell I know some gay men and women who could kick the crap out of any military drill sergeant. As for marriage. I don't care what anyone’s religion states. If they don't want to allow it then so be it. That is their right under freedom of religion. I get that. But when it comes to legal civil unions done by a justice of the peace or by a religious organization that has no problems with it then it should be legal and binding like any heterosexual union with the same benefits. As for adoption. I agree with you as well. I love the hair in your pic by the way.
