So managed to venture off today to a play date and discovered a gorgeous, completely new to me area!  Each one of those houses is completely unique, built around 1920's and trees go up forever.  Somewhere off i-30 and Oacliff.  Despite living here for ages, there is still so much that I do not know about Dallas its embarrassing.  I have been ( Read more... )

Oak Cliff has some beautiful areas! I grew up in Kessler Park and kids from other areas would be like, "Iewwww, you're from the ghetto!" Funny thing is, now Oak Cliff is all the rage. I still love my old hood!

i bet you're talking about the winnetka street section of oak cliff. very nice, i used to know some people who lived there. myself, i lived in the "poorer" section of oak cliff - jefferson & marsalis, later zang & davis. i liked it. people actually came out of their homes to walk around and talk with their neighbors (those crazy hispanics!).
we really do have to get together. i miss good conversation, and i feel i'm really missing out regarding sarah. i like babies (as long as they're not mine, of course - been there, done that) because it's fun to watch them learn to deal with the world, like the with hands. but what's this with the "black penguin?"

The big 3 -O! : ) so cool, and she is very amazing to watch. the little eyes never stop investigating you out : ). Yes, dallas is pretty interesting, lots of unexpected wonders (see them a lot when I ride my bike).
