20 minutes passed midnight. My eyes are swollen from crying. Thankfully, only for my sake, I was crying over a book. “The Kite Runner” has got to be one of the saddest, most tragic and somberly real books I’ve read. no doubt it won't be news to you, but those things happen to people in America too. I'm not sure it's worth worrying *too much* about unfair and cruel things happening on the other side of the planet, unless you're a person possessing significant powers to change people's fates (not necessarily financial powers).
Not at all trying to appear indifferent, but it's kinda like: you can't save the ozone layer by stopping using deodorants. You have to hold at least some sort of high post at Greenpeace, or better - director of EPA, to make a difference.

Rambling too much... What I wanted to say initially is that I love your writing style. Much better than an averaje LJ. Interesting subjects, too.

I often think about the contrast in which I live to people in situations such as you mentioned. It's just...so contrasting. So, very contrasting.
