Will work for food. :)g_the_curiousOctober 11 2005, 19:34:40 UTC
I will gladly trade an evening's worth of wall painting for a home-cooked meal.
I feel the same way recently at work. It's not that I don't have long term projects to complete--I do, it's just that I have no energy to do them. It's as though my brain's gas tank is on "empty." This lack of motivation isn't being helped by my boss's vacation.
I find nostalgia to be debilitating for me--I'm currently in the throes of a bad case of it with my ex. I ended the relationship, I know I didn't want it, yet I feel nostalgic. Why?? I guess it's human to feel this way? I guess the past becomes sweetened with time, regardless of what the past was actually like.

right... time tends to spice things doesn't it? It has nothing to do with reality... made up world of ours... idealistic, non-existant notion.
Thanks for the offer. I maybe have to take you up on that. Althought instead of the home-cooked meal, the most you can get is an ordered pizza. :) Stove to cook on is covered with plastic.
Did you go to toastmaster meeting yesterday? How was it?

Pizza is one of my favorite foods actually. Too favorite--not good for the waistline. But in place of a home cooked meal, free food is a good substitute. Let me know if you need help.
Toastmasters was a mixed bag. Clearly I could benefit from the club, as there were many examples of speakers that spoke well. But one problem I had with it was the demographic--the people there on average were quite a bit older than us, and also very, very conservative and religious. If the club was younger, or more liberal, I could see myself going again, but as it stands, I'm not quite sure. I'm adopting a "wait and see" attitude for now.
Do you feel like moving back? Or do you just want to visit? or not really?
i'm a bit nostalgic too, although it's only been 3 years for me. It's more about the people than the city/country. I'd love to go back, but only for a week or a month.
