Tenten and Temari's Room Is Now Open For Business.

Jan 19, 2006 20:52

Tenten's stomach had settled a bit since her run in with her two best friends. She sat up from her bed and looked in a mirror directly across the room. With a frustrated sigh, she fixed her disshoveled hair, making sure all the loose ends were tucked in their proper places. She paused when she saw something behind her in the reflection. It was her ( Read more... )

Kankuro shuffled his feet through the hallways, figuring that the way Tenten had seemed earlier was a bit off, and decided that she probably needed some company. Yes, he'd do that for her, since she was now a friend to him. A real friend, not someone who was afraid. He kept his feet dragging underneath himself as he moved, and he stopped not far from the room. The door was open, that meant company was okay, right? He realized. Yes, she had said it would be like that.

He knocked on the doorframe just in case she wasn't ready for guests, and said something, "Hey, Tenten-chan, like promised, I came over."

Tenten put her deck down, and gave a warm smile to Kankuro. "Come on in, sorry I couldn't leave the door open sooner. I wasn't exactly feeling at my best."

"Its understandable," Kankuro said with a solemn nod of his head. "People need time alone sometimes."

She nodded her head, smiling all the while, "Thanks for understanding. Things have just been so hectic...and and...damn, I'm such a bad hostess. Did you want anything to drink or eat? We have chips, so no need to worry about me poisoning you or anything."

Shino walked the hallways, statisfyed that his school assignments for the day were done. His original, plan was to go out in the empty soccer field and practice privately for a bit, but the doors to the gym were locked so he started to walk back to his room. He stopped when he saw a familiar door, and pondered for a moment. I did say I would visit.... Cradling Maska in his right hand, he softly knocked the door to the room.

[[Meh, I think I smell a run on sentence...]]

Tenten opened the door, "Ah, Shino..." then her eyes traveled to Maska, "And you came with Maska. Well come on in. You said you wanted me to do a reading, right?"

Shino nodded yes to her question, and walked into the room. He stood in the middle of it not quite sure to do next.

"Your room is...nice," he monotoned, his free hand gesturing around the room. It was a useless thing to say, but he felt like had to say something.

Neji stared at his hands before entering. It had taken him a great deal of courage to get to her place, and now that he was actually there he found it hard to get the words out.

Damn it, your hands are empty! You could have at least brought something.

Taking a deep breath, he knocked on the door. "IT'S ME," he yelled. There was a long pause with no response. "I'VE GOT SOMETHING TO TELL YOU!"

His heart was already starting to beat furiously and his stomach was beginning to churn. Yet for once he didn't feel afraid - he felt more open and happy that matters were finally beginning to resolve.

There was no mistaking that voice. Neji... She froze, so she didn't respond right away. She shook the feeling off and walked over to the door. He was probably going to tell her what she already had found out in that hallway. She didn't know if she was prepared for it.

"I'm coming, just a second," she shouted for him to here as she made her way to the door. She opened it and did her best to smile, "Umm...hi, Neji."

"Hey," he started. Shit. What was he supposed to say? All the self-practices he had seem to have disappeared. You know, I'm sorry to have been ignoring you for the past few days, but I've been a total idiot. This kind of sounds stupid, but well.. I just want to say that you've been important, and I.. and of course, Neji would finish by proclaiming boldly that he would bring her to the Valentine's dance (of which she would gladly accept, obviously) and everything would be happy-ever-after. Yes, Tenten, that was what I always wanted to say but I guess I couldn't. Thank God you're here.

"I'msorrythatI'vebeenignoringyou," he mumbled incoherently. "Irealizedsomethingveryimportantand-"

Long pause.

"-well actually you're very important to me and I..."

Neji broke off halfway at his attempts to enunciate his words, embarrassed at what he was going to say.

Tenten furrowed her brows not fully understanding what he was going on about. She openned the door wider to let him in. She was about to tell him to slow down, that was until she heard him say that she was important to him. Her cheeks instantly flushed, but she really hated the silence between them. "...Neji...what are you trying to say?"

Temari stood inside the bathroom, peeking from behind the door, a smirk on her face. She rolled her eyes as the genius started to babble. And he called himself a genius! She listened to his confession, well sort-of confession as it was lame, and nearly squealed when he suddenly hugged Tenten. Well, that was when she heard him...

"She likes Shikamaru."

"No, I don't!" she burst out flatly, scowling at the both of them. "I don't like Shi-Nara!"

Tenten's head instantly shot up upon hearing the scowl. She narrowed her eyes as she followed the sound of the awfully familiar anti-Shikamaru statements her room mate was famous for.

"Temari! Are you spying on us!? Get out of there right now before I make you my personal pin cushion..." she shouted, "And you do like him! Get over it!"

Temari sighed, stepping out from the bathroom, dressed in her pyjamas. Still, she managed to grin at the couple, her green eyes twinkling mischievously. She plopped on the couch, cupping her chin with her two hands.

"I've always known you'd both end up together," she said brightly, ignoring the death glare Tenten was sending her way. She then stood up and sashayed over to them. "But Tenten, you know I don't like Nara."

She waved a hand impatiently, pretending to look hurt. "And I thought you said you knew who I liked." Temari draped an arm around Neji's shoulder, grinning widely. "Hyuuga's hot, isn't he?"

Tenten blushed wildly. "How the hell did you even get into the bathroom while I was here the entire time!? When Neji isn't here, you are so dead. There will be no witnesses," she hissed the last part at her.

"Ha! You don't like Nara? As if. You like Nara just like a fat kid loves cake."
