So I'm still not employed. I think it'll take me way too long to get the FBI to finish up my background / fingerprint check to have time to get deployed by FEMA this summer, and I can't wait that long to work anyway. It'll have to be for next year. I wish I'd considered it during school and been able to do the paperwork, but they didn't start

Did they say that was what they were waiting on because I'm almost certain that the FBI hasn't even finished my background check.

I don't think I can be activated until the FBI okays me. They said it'll probably take 3-4 weeks, and at this point that means I would be unemployed that whole time, which I just can't afford. So I haven't filled out the packet yet. I'm going to contact the guy and let him know what's going on, and hopefully I can just wait until next summer to fill everything out and get ready. It'll save them some money if I'm not on their list, so they don't have to worry about getting my IDs and sending me all those updates/credit card statements, etc.

I dunno, that's what they said was going to keep it delayed. Maybe FEMA has their own FBI background checkers? No idea.
