(no subject)
No work today!
Although I actually did try to go in - I was wondering why the hell they weren't closed, but I checked the closings page as recommended, and there was nothing. So I crunched out through the snow-ice-snow layer and tried to get in my car - and I couldn't. It was covered in a sheet of ice about 1/2" thick (with big clunky gobs of ice around the door edges). I tried to get in the trunk to get my ice scraper and maybe hack at the door opening, but that was frozen shut too. I did manage to climb in the passenger's side door, started the car and tried to push the driver's door open, but no dice. Couldn't get in either of the back doors, also frozen shut. I decided "fuck it, I'm calling off, if I'm this bad they should have closed it anyway". So I called the "call off" line and got an automated message saying they were closed today. Goddamn, I could have used that this morning when I still could have gone back to bed.
Anyway. In theory I can get a ton of work done today.
In practice, whaddya wanna bet I watch movies and bake cookies? Although I could walk my fat ass over to Erica's house and make snow sculptures in her backyard all day, especially because I have snow-gear now! If it means I don't have to clean my busted-ass apartment, I may do that. Hmmm...
