1. In November, I was approached by a former supervisor from my current job with an invitation to apply at his company.
2. I did that, while being open about it with my current supervisor, because we have a great relationship and I wanted to be sure I'd explored my options at the place that has been awfully good to me for the last six years.

All these awesome things - well done you! Congratulations on the new job; I hope you have a wonderful time there. It's good you were able to be so open and honest with your supervisor; I'm glad. It always helps to have such a relationship.

Good luck, also, on completing that novella; how exciting! How long is it, if I may ask?

It is...currently about 43,000 words. Which is already too long for a novella. It's going to be a horrifically awkward length, I think.
