My roommate came and got me yesterday afternoon to ask if I knew what "that thing" was. He suggested it was something between a beaver and a fat raccoon.
I was thinking wombat.
But if news got out that wombats were arriving in TN it might start some kind of pre-apocalyptical panic, so I never said it out loud
(though I did stock up on bottled water and canned goods last night).

It wasn't until I googled "woodchuck" today that things started to make sense.
Same thing as a ground hog (I never knew) but "woodchuck" sounds so much better.
