Snow Day Tempo

The last few snow storms we've had have been No Big Deal. The weathermen have managed to scare me into not driving to work twice recently with dire "winter storm warnings" and then...a few hours later we've had two whopping inches of snow ( Read more... )

He is so adorable! I love how he just knows it's you. It looks like he's wearing leg warmers too! and those eye lashes! wow.

Glad you made it through the snow. It snowed here overnight, then turned to rain. By tomorrow morning it's supposed to be all frozen over and totally gross. Lucky for me I not only have to drive to work but I also have a doc appointment midday in the total opposite direction. Closer to home but still, too much driving.

ugghh, definitely too much driving.

:-) He is cute huh? Its funny because everyone believes *their* horse is special (and of course everyone is right) but I think Sage's curls and him being a rare breed make it a little easier for me to harbor delusions of him being *special* in a way that's visible to other people too (and in my head his recognizable specialness goes beyond his curls...).

Wow that was not very well-said...anyways...he is very cute isn't he? :D

ha! I understood it.

I think it's the same way with having children. Every parent thinks there's is the best but in reality maybe not.

Sage is so beautiful. He just looks so sweet. I love curlies. I mean, I have never actually met one but they are totally adorable. I love those mysterious ears that grow out of their backs too! :-p Okay that was lame.
AND I AM SO JEALOUS OF YOUR WEATHER.

LOL...understandable.

Not that I *ever* overthink things...but you do realize that we humans can have medical issues due to it being too hot when the external temp hits oh, about 20 ° F above our body temp? But it can be about 90° F BELOW our body temp and, as long as we dress for it, no problem (well, at least for a couple of hours...point being it seems to me like cold is the more forgiving direction...not that I plan on any future experiments with either hypothermia or heat stroke. :]

He really does *love* his job. His whole being emanates pride and well-being when he's got his job and knows his proper place in the universe. Having his own mares and leading daily trail rides when he was started under saddle was the happiest I've ever seen him. I think he'll settle for being my riding horse but truly, I think he wants a life where he nurtures dozens of handicapped children, or is someone's well-known search and rescue horse, or gets to lead week long trail rides through the wilderness...he feels he's smart enough and capable enough for a JOB and I often get the feeling he's a bit insulted by the lack thereof, as if ti somehow means I don't deem him worthy.

Maybe crazy of me, but I think some of that has to do with him being gelded late. He was all set to be in charge of his own little herd and in one fell swoop he became nothing more than your average pasture puff/ pleasure mount...

He does wear his frosting well... :-)

Proper snow! And a proper snowy pony! It really shows up his curls and there is a lot of character going on there.

Great pictures!

Thanks. He is snowy...and it was *really* snowing, although certainly not anymore than is normal for our region...
