Sorry probabably translate from Australian to general.

A white elephant is a valuable possession of which its owner cannot dispose and whose cost (particularly cost of upkeep) is out of proportion to its usefulness.... King of Siam use to give them out as gifts to people that he's pissed off with. Can't get rid of it cos that would be rude, and bankrupt yourself feeding it.

George the Beagle loves to eat tissues. Its disgusting, but he's a dog.

Polony the same as Bologna sausag or Devon, or Boloney, luncheon, or Fritz.

Pine - to ache, long or yearn for something.

So my dog is the only thing that is missing the housemate because she gives him tissues and fake meat made from lips and arseholes of dead animals.
