I'm completely of two minds about Gotham despite my abiding love for Donal Logue in anything...

Well I made it through the pilot, which isn't always a certainty, but wasn't particularly stricken by it to the point where I'll be on the edge of my seat for next week's ep. I'm not sure what it was, either Ben McKenzie now being just that little bit too old now for the wide-eyed newbie role he did so well in SouthLAnd, or Sean Pertwee's slightly wandering accent as he tried to play Michael Caine, I was left thinking 'is that it?'. Maybe it was a little too knowing in terms of the shovelling of foreshadowing, or just that I don't particularly care for the end result so a prequel was never going to grab me?

The Sleepy Hollow and Person of Interest premieres were both great, though. :)

I am TOTALLY watching NCIS: New Orleans for Scott! Kind of weird getting used to his faux-Cajun accent, but it's not that bad, it's kind of subtle. I've never before watched an NCIS-anything, so this will be fun for me, I think. Loved the two-parter premiere once I found it on the Season 11 NCIS DVD. (how very sneaky of them to pilot a spinoff within the existing season of a show; so those of us who don't watch that show had no idea it was a potential pilot. Can't believe I missed it when it first aired.)

We just ordered the new Quantum DVR from Verizon. MORE RECORDING.

*applause* They just can't make those hard drives big enough, IMO.

Is it wrong that I am considering NCIS: New Orleans for Scott Bakula?

Eighty percent of why I started watching Bones was David Boreanaz, so you're definitely asking the wrong person. ;)

My tv list, FWIW goldiebug September 25 2014, 16:06:22 UTC
Sorry you're dropping Castle, Blue Bloods and H50. Our list of mutually watched shows dwindles! :-( My returning shows (in addition to those three): Sleepy Hollow, Person of Interest, Agents of SHIELD, Grimm, Once Upon a Time, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Mom, the Blacklist (although it's often more grisly than I would like, but James Spader rocks), Nashville (my guilty pleasure soap opera), Arrow, the 100 (on the bubble; as long as Paige Turco's character is not killed off I'll stick with it; hey it's based on a teen book and it's almost my job to watch it :-), Elementary, the Amazing Race, and The Mentalist when it returns.

New shows I'm trying: Madam Secretary (loved the pilot), Forever (new favorite! Ioan is so adorable and I love the M.E./procedural stuff, he's almost a Holmesian character), Selfie (only for the car crash-can't-look-away factor), The Flash, Mysteries of Laura (though again, it's probably stupid and I'll give up on it, but want to give Debra Messing a chance), How to Get Away With Murder, Constantine

I gave up on Castle twice before trying again (both times when the juvenile middle-school-esque 'romance' plots drove off the luff of idiocy) but I'm seriously done. I'm sad, 'cause when I watch old episodes I really like it, but when they drag on 'will they won't they' with asinine misunderstandings that one adult conversation like aults would solve, no thank you.

Yep, pretty much the same, here. I don't care for romances generally, but the 'family' aspects of the first few seasons--both Castle's as well as Beckett's work family--were great, and the banter was fun. One recurring problem with romances is that they're usually at their height during the will-they-or-won't-they stage, and run out of gas after they 'do' (because the reality of adult life starts to set in and real relationships are hard), so writers give into the temptation to spin out the will-they-or-won't-they stage to the point of infantalizing the leads.

I am sooooooooooooooo happy Sleepy Hollow is back! And I was not disappointed in the season opener. \o/

Haven't seen Person of Interest yet, but I'm anticipating I won't be disappointed there, either.

Still planning to watch Elementary, but most of the other stuff I watch (NCIS of all flavors, Castle, Hawaii 5-0) is mostly because the husband likes them. He liked Scorpion, too, but I have my reservations on that one...
