Opinions Needed: Book De-Cluttering

I recently read Marie Kondo's The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. I've been searching for a while for a way to improve my habitat, so that my space is relaxing, joyful and pleasant. I'm the same as some of the other posters here--totally agree that it should be done, but i'm the LAST person to ask for advice on getting rid of books! I'm the person who has multiple copies of the same book because I like the original cover and the new cover and oh look this one has a revised afterword and oh wow this is the German edition, gotta keep that! Sigh. At least I try to get rid of duplicate copies when I get a new copy that's autographed or something like that. I KNOW I'll never reread them all, but I just like to sit and look at them, dust them and rearrange them, remember where I got them, how sad is that?

Hee! Yes, I guess asking a librarian is for tips on getting rid of books is like asking a liquor store owner for directions to the AA meeting. ;)
