From what I heard, it was banging hard against the wharf, damaged the hull and sank nice and easy.
Unfortunately, it had pretty full fuel tanks, and there was no way of putting up any baffles or anything to hold back the spill.
There's also the question of how this could happen in the first place. Sure, most russian fishing vessels are heaps of rust held loosely together with paint and bailing wire, but that one had just had its certification renewed for 5years and was in the process of getting a very expensive 'factory' refit.
Maybe they'll find out more when they raise it?
(They need to get it away from the wharf anyway... )
