Make it make money!

Yeah, so a couple of weeks ago I started my new job. I'm a "Server Assistant" (fancy term for busser) for a restuarant called Rosa Mexicano and it's located in a very nice part of town. That means gooooooood tips. In the past two weeks alone I've already made more than I made in a month at the Ferst Center. And there's all the guacamole I can eat ( ( Read more... )

Lol. Leave it to Nathan to complicate the Server Assistant job process. Being a Server Assistant is the easiest job in the world. The nuances aren't hard to learn either. Pretty soon you get free food from the cooks and stay over night cleaning and painting the ceiling. At least thats how it worked for me. Working 6 hours with no break is a joke. Working almost 12 hours with no break is something to complain about. Although I haven't gotten that high yet. I'm only at maybe 10 hours with no break. Do energy drinks count as a break?

Psh, I bet it's not him.
Barista training takes WEEKS, and that's just coffee!
Imo they overdo it with our training, though...

I srsly don't understand this working that many hours without a break stuff D: Don't you have laws there?! I'd totally die without my break.

We're talking about a guy who needs butter to have a place marked "butter" in the fridge to be able to find it. lol or I'm just giving him a hard time because he's my older brother and I like picking at him. They overdo most training because of formalities. Some people don't get things very well. I get told the same thing I've heard over 50 times about 5 more times in one day. Just because I'm a Server Assistant and that must mean I'm retarded. And I only worked long hours without breaks when I have to. The 10 hour thing was staying over night to refurbish the whole store because the Vice President of the entire company and the district manager was coming in the next day and we had to make the place look great and only 3 people stayed over night to help.

Yeah, well so what if my common sense is slightly lacking? And if my stamina is also lacking? Even I can learn "simple" tasks like that. It's just my personality to analyze stuff, and since I plan to open up a restaurant as part of my "master plan" it's a good opportunity to research it. Also, I do enjoy it when it's busy but everyone is working together which almost happened today and it was pretty cool. Still hard work, but nice.

Except for that little Mexican guy who was fiercely protective of his guacamole cart. I swear he's like a chihuahua or something.
