so today i went to work dressed as Mary Poppins...had the hat, white gloves, button up white shirt with lace collar and red bow, overcoat, skirt, sensible shoes, umbrella, rosy cheeks and cheery disposition (what? i'm fuckin' CHEERY, alright!?). so kitty was very needy last night. demanding to be petted and snuggled...and i was okay with this even when he was laying on top of me while i was attempting to sleep. i think he was milking the fact that my mother put a sock on him and he was playing it up like he was just sooooo traumatized. picture a tube sock with armholes and a headhole ( Read more... )

So my granpa is doing well, thank goodness. And thank you to all those who said they'd think about him/pray/send good vibes...much appreciated. Today he started eating solid foods (or at least eating something) and drinking water again. He wasn't able to after the surgery because they choppy-choppied his intestines to make his new bladder and so ( Read more... )

I'm not really the praying type, but my grandpa is going to undergo major surgery tomorrow to take out his cancerous bladder and prostate and fashion him a new bladder out of his cecum (fancy term for pouch of skin found in the large intestine ( Read more... )

that's been me for the past couple weeks anyway (weekends, i guess). lake geneva one weekend for fun and drinking, shaumburg the next for a goodbye to a good friend who moved to colorado springs for grad school, then a quick jaunt out to colorado with kyle the next weekend to visit the friend i was saying goodbye to the weekend previous...crazy.
