over the past week, i turned 24. not usually the most looked-forward to or celebrated of birthdays. it doesnt mark any real right of passage or end of a decade of life. and certainly on the day of such a birthday, i didnt treat it with any real significance. i went to work, studied for my linguistics class, and watched a friend's cats while she was ( Read more... )

Everyone takes a different path in life. Marriage may be suitable for some, but not ideal for others. It's good to be asking ourselves the important question of what we want in life but more often than not, there isn't going to be a clear definite answer coz what we want will change with time, and changes in life experiences etc e.g. when we are young, we may aim to do well in our studies and get a degree, when we graduate from school, we want an outstanding career and probably find an ideal partner. I guess the most important thing is to be happy, and happiness is a state of mind. You need not save the world, have lots of wealth or be famous to be happy. Sometimes, living a simple life can be happy, as long as one is contented with and learns to appreciate the simple things he/she has and the people around him/her. Spend time with loved ones while they are around and take time to do the things you really enjoy doing. Economics tells us that $$ does not have diminishing marginal utility, but in reality, $$ could just be a number in a ( ... )

Finding confidence in self, healthy anger when dominated, and appreciation for acting on old fashion love and idealism. Sounds like growing up. Scared? Fuck yeah. Who isn't? Good changes. You'll be fine.
