 still getting ready for vacation here, but getting a rare day off! The car is broken, joy, the mechanic said it was the exhaust pipe so hopefully it won't be to expensive to repair

All depends on where under the car the pipe has a problem. The labor cost will be the expensive part. Fingers crossed the mechanic treats you fairly.

He's a good friend and won't charge labor, but i am still parking it. the parts alone will cost 900$. Its needs a new catalytic converter and exhaust system,
