Well, you could always switch to an ankh. There are people that don't know the difference between an ankh and a Christian cross.

One of the things that offers never-ending amusement is how people in the Northeast claim moral and intellectual superiority over other regions, then can't find the state of Florida on a map. NYC is especially guilty of this.

oh my god, i know, i've seen the ankh vs. cross error happen before my very eyes on more than one occasion.

*sigh* i've always been able to find florida on a map, but i don't think i have the ny public schools to thank for that...

Twice as embarrassing when a family member makes the error!

A friend originally from Texas was complaining in an LJ entry about how so many people from the Northeast assume Texans are inbred morons, so I already had the thoughts of general idiocy not being confined to any geographic area in mind when I came here. Overheard in NYC is a great resource if you want to see how complete idiocy is rampant in our surroundings.

hah! Everytime someone mentions Miami, I immediately think of California. My rational mind knows it's in Florida, but for some reason, I am geographically dyslexic and juxtapose the two locations from time to time...

I'd lean toward "terrifying."

yeah, it's going that way. but somehow, it's also intrinsically laughable.
