pessimism about politics. not about Jesus and that grassroots movement He started. hope, hope, hope in Jesus. AND I'm super pumped we agree on this deal. I also feel like most huge American politicians play the Christian card. Not that Bush doesn't play it to another level (and I believe in many ways he doesn't play it so much as he's sincere alot) . . .

. . . not trying to defend Bush cause I have no real reason to do so. But honestly, how much effect did Bush really have on the budget? I don't know that much about how the whole political system works but I feel like he probably didn't do that much more than sign off on it having been convinced of its validity by his advisors right?

Here's my real question: how much of a figure head is our president when the cabinet and other similar ranking folks are really the most powerful people in America (in terms of decision making anyways)?
