Nnnope. It's pretty much a lost cause. Victor is officilly dead. Dead. Dead. Dead.
I'm working on Hugh at the moment, but he's a bit of a junker with an overheating problem. I feel like my skin is going to melt off, which means he's bound to turn himself off in the next few minutes.
I can't even be too bummed, though, because the primary reason I can't afford a new computer is sitting on my dresser in the form of two adorable skittering things with interchangeable shells. I love my boys, and if giving them a decent home means I have to wait for reliable internets, then that's a price I'll pay. I'd rather Hephaestus have a successful molt than let him die so I can watch playlists on YouTube.
Hmm...generally one with a working screen that doesn't use up a good 90% of its CPU just running the operating system.
I'm working on Hugh at the moment, my beloved Victor's predecesor. He's saddled with Vista and just starting him up takes damn near every bit of his processor.
Victor had windows 7 and his CPU usage rarely rose above 40%. Pauvre Victor. Le sob. Le sob.
Plus Hugh spontaneously shuts himself off when he gets too hot, which makes writing on him a terrifying prospect because unless I'm working on Google Docs, I stand a VERY large chance of losing all my work. *shudder*
