So why haven't I been listening to Mogwai longer?
I think I had just assumed they were a reggae hippy jam band or something.

Give me some more music recommendations along those lines.

Danke

im surprised. i thought youd be a big mogwai fan!
so along the same lines youve got
the album leaf
tristeza
god speed you black emperor
you prolly know all those bands
ummmm ohhh brightblack morning light is awesome!
check out their song a river could be loved
and we share our blanket with the...
i dont know the rest of the name of the song,
but that should be enough.
as for stuff that is just chill and mellow
E rock is good- the song living, breathing, overcast.
explosions in the sky is good instrumental
i also suggest mount eerie (which is a off shoot band of the microphones) and check out hot chip,
these bands arent like mogwai but they rock just the same!

tell me if you like any..and catch me online ill send you some songs!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Mogwai! If you like Mogwai you might also like Mono, Slint, Silver Mount Zion, Don Cabellaro, Belleni, Do Make Say Think, Rachels, Tristeza, Tortoise, G!YBE.. Try those on for size?
