That last week will forever be known as Hell Week (and by forever I mean until an even shittier week comes along).
First things first: I passed. I'm going through to the next class. I spent all weekend fearing I'd failed my final tests (especially the Listening) but actually I did fine; 88.6% on the Written, 80% on the Listening (which a lot of

You know, writing e-mails is probably one of the best ways to prove one's case. Yamasa mostly teaches you to write and an e-mail pleading for your case is probably the best written 実力 test available. Perhaps that's why they are encouraging this.
If I'd ever been held back, I'd have headed home too. I was barely there in the first place and had no room to repeat a term. Now if only I can turn that passion to my university studies. -_-;
Good luck in B class! Keep us updated.

I started at the bottom and I only have 6 months left here so I have no room to repeat a term either - nor the will to waste that much money.
While technically possible I doubt very much I will ever make it to A Class. Indeed I think the days of Westerners without previous study of Japanese coming here and making it from the bottom class to the top are pretty much over (with rare exceptions of course). Certainly hard work and good grades are no longer enough.
Good luck with Uni! I'll keep updating if you will :o)

The axis of evil (Fuma, Yamada, Yokozawa) feels strongly that many of the students in C and D class have "poor attitude," are disrespectful of teachers, etc.
The empire has struck back, it seems. So now we have to get down on our hands and knees and beg for forgiveness. This is what it is about. It has nothing to do with academics.
We are paying money, and its' not professional, so hopefully I'll be at another school pretty soon. But still waiting for the result.
Knock on wood. . .

Have you found out about the other school yet? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Overall I still think Yamasa is a good school though. I learned a lot during my year there. Just a few teachers I did not get along with, but there were many more that I thought were very good and am grateful for that. Drop me a line the next time you are in Tokyo. Good luck finishing up at Yamasa too.
