Just wanted to update what i have to do for a book we are putting out from Ballard Street. The poet went to a professional typist, I think, and now I all can get from this individual is pdf or quark. She will charge the poet a lot of money a page to convert it into word. So what can I do to convert it into word.

You could try one of the free conversion options on line though I suspect you'll have the same issues that Lea raised. Here's just one -- never used it and can't vouch for it, but there are others if you search for it:

I use pdfonline.com to create PDF documents when I need one and it works well.

I haven't tried the PDF2Word function though.
