Yeah dude, I felt your pain, that's why I transferred. SFSU advisors don't know anything, one time I was supposed to meet with an major advisor when I was thinking about transferring back during the semester I took off from school, I had made an appointment a month in advance, and while I was on the campus, on the way to the appointment, they called me and said they had to cancel because the lady had to be in the east bay and there was traffic so she wanted to leave a litle earlier. Our appointment would have only been 15 minutes long, then they said i had to reschedule for a date a month later. At that moment I realized I did not want to transfer back and I would hate sfsu forever
ALSO, when I was doing this instrasystem thing with the CSU system where you remain a SFSU student but you are allowed to attend a different CSU campus and have your units transferred back, when I went to talk to an advisor about it, when I knew it was a legit program and I found all the necessary forms online, they had no idea what I was talking about, and then when I said where i wanted to go, they were like "why would anyone want to go to humboldt". SF state does fucking suck
I feel your pain on the bad advisors too. I saw an advisor last semester (I go to the University of Rhode Island) because I wanted to add a major. I told her I was going to do a double degree program, and she approved it. Months later, my second major is still not listed, so my transcript still lists one major. I have plenty of time to correct this, but seriously.. the whole point of the meeting was to have my second major added on, and they never did it. :/
I have told several people that I think college is designed to make us fail. Consider the fact that it's incredibly easy to drop your GPA but nearlimpossible to raise it up afterward. All in all, I believe that most colleges are like yours. The 1st university i went to, for only a semester, was absolutely great and I miss every second of it because my current university is a nightmare.
