It has just occurred to me that my birthday is fast approaching. It's hard to believe I shall be spending another birthday here. It's almost too much to believe. Perhaps I was overly optimistic, but I had thought that we'd be home by this point.

Now I don't know what to think.

I don't mind the birthday. It is a part of life. Not being home is harder to accept.
