Notebooks.

I've heard of such things being done before (but not for a while, and I have never been involved myself), and I think it sounds a good idea, so I'd like to give it a go. It's not, strictly speaking, penpalling, but there we are.

It works like this: I go out and buy a notebook, decorate a few pages, and then post it on to someone else, who then decorates a few pages, and sends it on. The pages could be decorated in any way you see fit. You could write about yourself, use colours, share a poem, draw a picture, add stickers, tell about something you saw, or anything you like. Perhaps people might want to leave their address or lj-username so that later readers might contact them if they wished. (Although I don't know about that idea) Anyone could read the pages, add to the book, and find someone to send it on to. (Of course, if a few people are interested here, then a list of people can be compiled incase people get stuck for someone to send the book on to) I just think it's an interesting project.

If you're interested, drop a comment here. Or, if you'd rather not post your address for all to see, my e-mail address is ejcod@hotmail.com. (If you could mention the idea in the subject, that would be very helpful)

EDIT: If you're interested in the above idea, please e-mail me your address. Life crept up on me and so it's not been posted as soon as I hoped, but I'll change this edit when I do.

Also, I'm interested in an idea (that sparked from this one) where a notebook could be exchanged by two people. Similarly to the way that a penpal would send letters, but more like a sort of postal journal. One person would write for a bit (perhaps for a few days, or a week), then post it to the other. And so on. It wouldn't have to be as personal as a "diary" if you didn't want, but just thoughts, or accounts of what's happening. What you'd generally write in letters, I guess. I don't know, if anyone's interested in this odd idea, let me know.
