Asian tsunami

Asia Tsunamis death toll hits 23,000! And that figure could still go way up. :(

This quake hit 9.0 in the Richter scale. Worst that my city had was the 7.7 tremor on July 16, 1990. From what I understand, that means this 2004 earthquake is 13 times stronger than the 1990 one. :(

Thanks, Mel. From news reports, it was a good thing that the Philippines is nearer the Pacific Ocean, where other countries have set up a warning system for tsunamis.

Pen, I'm glad to see you posted here- I was worried about you actually. I heard about the disaster and yes, the quake was really a strong one- as far as I heard one of the most powerful. Hugs to you, Mirty

Aww, thanks, Michy. No cause for worry here; my country wasn't hit by the tsunamis. My cousin and I did plan to go to Bangkok, but of course we have to cancel that now. Let's all pray for the victims.
