Sigh... history books... well, more to the point "elementary education". It brings up all sorts of questions about how much we should shelter children versus how much information they can handle and still be alright. That sort of thing happens in math, too, when they tell you that you can't take a big number away from a little number and that negative numbers don't exist (but they magically start existing when you get to middle school). Yes, it's really tough. Especially when it comes to the situation with Native Americans. I have a feeling that if adults were less poetic about Natives that we might see some progress in Native causes in the next generation...
