Yea big developments have happened since I voted 'Super Tuesday' for Mr. Obama. Especially with the Republican party. Hope he kicks butt in Maine. This is turning into an exciting election.
I admire and respect your opinion, and were I a democrat, I probably would support Obama as well.
I have to say, though, the adulation heaped on him is bordering on the fanatical (in the religious sense). It's interesting to watch from the outside. Someone set so high on a pedestal that posters like this exist, well, if they fall, they'll fall hard.
Diana- I agree with your e-mail so much. As for Obama being put on a pedestal, that's exactly what this country needs, especially the once-indifferent young voters: Someone with an almost-messianic reputation. What's great is that he speaks of unity and equality, so he's not the one perpetuating the aforementioned reputation.
I live in Illinois, so of course we went for Obama. But his speech at the headquarters in Chicago was incredible. I loved it when he said that "we're the change we've been waiting for." It made me wonder, "Why didn't anyone think of this earlier?" and the apathy that once clouded my vision dissipated.
Unfortunately, I still fear that not as many voters under 30 may show up at the polls across the nation as previously anticipated. Super Tuesday is an example of that. To mobilize the young vote as Obama has... it's such a wonderful thing. Now I just hope young people realize the important difference between being Obama's friend on Facebook and voting for him in the primaries.
