Ouch, sorry about the fall but at least he's still as good natured as you thought he was. Have you considered using a Gentle Leader or Halti with him to help with the pulling? They don't work for all dogs but they can work miracles for some!! Especially until you are really able to work with training.

What doc said - try a halter or gentle leader.

also - obedience is a good thing! There is a therapy group out there that doesn't require CGS - they instead evaluate the dog and the human and see how they do in certain situations. I can send you the info if you are interested - I'm planning to sign up Twinkle in the near future!
